Tips for playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast?
My high school is putting Beauty and the Beast, and I'm trying out for Belle. I am an experienced actress and had played just looking for tips, especially from other actresses, the Belle. Thank You!
Really "getting to know" the character! Belle is beautiful in appearance, but it is not for nothing at all - because it is also beautiful in person. Belle is the epitome the good, she falls in love with a man after a terrible first impression - and the fact that he was a "beast." The handsomest man in town, Gaston smitten with her - but she rejects him because he is stupid and cruel. She is intelligent and loves to read. She is also courageous - she goes to save her father from the beast! That leads in her relationship with her father - she is such a good daughter. Belle is a friendly, balanced and intelligent! If you are lucky to have the script already, look over This, I would not recommend to just the Disney movie or YouTube videos of Susan Egan, etc. Try to develop your own character! At the audition - do not worry, Take risks! Do something different then the way someone else is doing it ... it helps you stand out! Be safe and professional manner. They should not be nervous, because you then so well prepared! Haha! Best of luck!
