Orlando bound? Make Your Own "Disney World Countdown" calendar
Author: Anne Marie Hayes
There are 3 important parts, not great adventure: The Build-Up (before), The Adventure (during) and the Memory Sharing (afterwards). We made more than a dozen trips to Disney World and still celebrate the traditions that we created for each of these 3 parts. A very interesting things that we do during the "Build-Up is to create a special calendar tick, which we daily as we countdown to our next Disney World vacation.
This project is incredibly simple. Anyone can make access to an online computer with a printer one. There are many ways to personalize it with your favorite Disney characters and special stickers to.
We create the schedule for the months of the holidays and the preceding month. So - if we are already in March - we are creating the calendar for February and March. I print on both sides of a single page. You can color print - (what looks good!) - Or in black and white so that children can enjoy the color of the calendar too!
Requirements:
Computer with Internet access
Printers & Paper
Colored pencils or markers or stickers
Directions:
1. Use your computer to go to this website - http://disney.go.com/magicartist/calendars/index.html
This is the Disney "Calendar Creator" page.
2. Use the arrows in the "Month" field browse to the month and year you want to print.
3. Select the character you want to put on your calendar. You have many options.
4. Use the "drag and drop sticker "on specific dates to highlight it.
Note attend: To Label: Move the cursor over the label you want. Click once and then release the button on your mouse. Move the cursor to the desired date to highlight it. Click once to 'drop' the label.
5. Choose 'B & W "on the left side when pressure in black and white. (Then the kids can have the calendar color.) Otherwise - The calendar is in Color print.
6. Select the "PRINT" icon on the right side to print.
Done!
Tip 1: I like to use "Mickey" for the countdown calendar, because his "drag and drop" stickers are an airplane and a "Mickey" icon. I use the plane on the day of our flights to and from Orlando to highlight it. I use the "Mickey" icon in the days we'll spend at the resort brand.
TIP 2: I print my calendars on 2-sided Glossy photo paper. They look great. (You may need a marker to write on glossy paper.)
These calendars make great gifts, too. Do you provide your calendar with a special marker or pencil. I've found great store Disney logo items in our local dollar. (They also have great Disney Can use stickers, the children to mark the day, if they prefer.)
You can roll up the calendar to bind it using a bow and add The special pen on the tape. Or put them in a special folder with some of the Coloring pages can be found here: http://disney.go.com/magicartist/coloring/index.html.
Add a new box of crayons and a sheet of stickers to help a great gift and to the excitement for a special boy or a Girls, as they count the days to her great Disney adventure!
