Panama Canal?
Please answer the following questions about the Panama Canal. A) Who first proposed a canal in the area of Modern Day Panama? B) Who first made a serious attempt to build the canal? c) What were two of the main problems of the construction of the canal? d) When the canal was finished?
I do not want your entire task for you to do, but here some history from Wikipedia: "The earliest mention of a canal through the isthmus of Central America is comes from the year 1534, when Charles V, Emperor and King of Spain suggested a canal in Panama take the trip easier for ships to and from Ecuador and Peru would. [5] "In view the strategic situation in Central America as a narrow strip of land distribution by two great oceans, other forms of trade links were attempted over the years. The ill-fated Darien scheme was an attempt by the Kingdom of Scotland started in 1698 the establishment of an overland trade route, but was defeated by the generally inhospitable conditions, and abandoned in 1700. [6] Finally, the Panama Railroad was built across the isthmus, opening in 1855. This overland link greatly facilitated trade, and this important part of the infrastructure was a major factor in the selection of the later canal route. Construction work on the Gaillard Cut is shown in this photo from 1907An, all water route seen between the seas even as the ideal solution, and the idea of a canal was revived at various times and for different routes, a route through Nicaragua was examined several times. Finally, through the success of the Suez Canal, the French, under Ferdinand de Lesseps, began construction of a sea-level canal (ie enthusiasm, without Lock) through the province of Panama (as before) on 1 January 1880. In 1893, after a large part of the work, the French scheme was abandoned due to illness and those with considerable difficulties in building a sea level canal, and lack of French field experience, such as heavy rain causes corrosion of steel equipment. [7] The high The death toll was one of the most important factors in impairment: Although no detailed records were taken, are not less than 22,000 workers estimated which died during the peak period of French construction (1881 to 1889). [8] "The United States, under Theodore Roosevelt, bought the French equipment and excavations, and started work in 1904, after helping Panama to declare independence from Colombia in return for control of the Panama Canal Zone. A significant Investment in the eradication of disease from the area, particularly yellow fever and malaria, had been the causes that were recently discovered (see Health measures during the construction the Panama Canal). With the diseases under control, and after significant work to prepare the infrastructure, the construction of an elevated canal with locks began in earnest. The Canal was formally on 15 August 1914 with the transit countries of the cargo ship Ancon opened. "Here is the URL for the above: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panama_Canal

History of Healthcare in the United States
Author: Roland Jefferson III
The history of health care and health insurance is a relatively new concept in the United States. The first plans began to help health the surface during the Civil War, but it covers only accidents were related to travel. These plans covered people who were traveling by train or Boat. These initial plans were the inspiration for health plans that covered more medical expenses such as illness and hospital benefits. The first story of a recognized health care plan is originated from the year 1847 and out of Boston.
It was in 1929 that a modern style, health support formed. This happened when a group teachers came Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and offered to pay a monthly fee if they could live there and have access to medical care. Shortly after this event There were life insurance companies that offer the prospect of health assistance insurance to go along with their life.
There, surprisingly little that if you're into the history of healthcare in this country that you go through the start of the name of Blue Cross and Blue Shield to. Blue Cross began negotiations with workers and support for health facilities offer at a discount. In return for this discount Blue Cross, a large part of the bill would be paid. This appeal would be to the industry, because it meant they would increase their money in a reasonable amount of time and their clientele.
The need for health care In Our Country
It soon became clear that certain sections of the population can afford to pay their health care costs, nor were they able to work in order to benefit from the advantages of health care. Seniors and people with disabilities have been faced with rising costs which they could not pay. A look at the history of health care shows that the government came up with a plan to cover all retired people who were older than 65. The Medicare program was established with funds collected from the wages of employees. The idea was that you would pay your premiums while you were young, but would Do not receive your benefits until you retire.
When seen look at the history of health care we do, where the Government to make further efforts to obtain insurance had to make those with disabilities or below the poverty line now lived. Medicare can now cover a person who is not working because of a disability, even if they are not 65th Medicaid for those who can not afford health insurance or health insurance based. For many reasons, there is the fear that at the beginning of this system is doomed to fail and there is an urgent need for protection of health reform. It is time for the United States for a good long look at their current issues to take health care.

Robin Hood
Disney Collectibles - Robin Hood
Obamaâ € ™ s Misplaced Robin Hood Complex
Author: JJ Jackson
Barack Obama, like any good liberal, has a Robin Hood complex. This was clear when he said bluntly œJoe the Plumberâ € â €, a man who was vilified by the left and has had his actual comment in the things he distorts never said that he wanted to, â € œspread to the wealth â € by taxing people who make too much. In this case, has determined that Obama cash of $ 250,000.
When it became clear to the Marxist left who believe that â € œfrom according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, â € that such ideas do not go into Fly to America, as they had across Europe, they began another song to sing. In other singing melody that they co-opted the figure of Robin Hood, whose claim to fame, they believe that he was â € œstole from Richa € to â € œgive the poorâ €. To an extent it's true, but not to the extent that that the liberals want you to believe.
Robin Hood is a popular story that has seen many children and lots of improvements and changes over time. As time has worn off, the left in a position to want to present themselves as modern Robin Hoods of those who give too much to those who have little or nothing to take. But the true story of Robin Hood is not simply that he â € œstole from Richa € and distributed the spoils to the poor. Rather, those who fought the Robin Hood were against the officials and the corrupt that kept the people under their boot heal. He fought against what was at the time, excessive government and those who which controlled the reins of power and the feudal order of the time.
In early tales Robin Hood was a member of the landlord class and a landowner â € "not someone who was poor himself. He had no real reason to oppose the feudal system except that he saw it as wrong.
The Sheriff of Nottingham is perhaps Robin Hooda € ™ s best-known opponents. In another narration of the story Prince John was also right up there with the sheriff and a cruel leader in the absence of King Richard, who fought in the Crusades. Both were of the nobility, the â € € œchosenâ class, and as fiat powers rule over the people without the consent of the people. It was for all intents and purposes, tyrannical politicians. The sheriff was, in fact, the â € € œtax collectorâ of the day.
The seconds famous opponent Robin Hood fights is Guy of Gisborne, whose roll changes depending on the exact story being told. Which version of the story however, Guy of Gisborne is a corrupt figure in the service of the Sheriff either directly or indirectly, a partner in identifying corruption Robin Hood.
Others of Robina € ™ s enemies are members of the Catholic Church, have corruption like the Bishop of Hereford, which is fleecing his congregation for its Improvement.
In fact, Robin Hood was not only a master of â € œThe poorâ €, but from what was right. He befriended regularly craftsman who would join his band gathered Merry Men entrepreneurs oppressed under the yoke of taxes, farmers, workers and even nobles behind Robin Hood. In fact, in the early stories of the â € € œMerry Mena Robin Hood figures were pretty good yeoman to do. The swinging swords, not the quarter Staffs of later tales and of poorer people, and swords were not cheap, so we had to have money, one to have.
Yes, depending on the telling of history, not change the exact circumstances. But overall the theme of the same â € "Robin Hood fought against oppressive remains And corrupt government officials and even church officials on behalf of the citizenry. Not only the poor but to all citizens.
This is far of which, what the liberals like Barack Obama. But for some reason they still think of as modern Robin Hoods. Is it because of ignorance? Is it because of stupidity? No, it is because liberals do what they do forever. They change the meaning of words to suit their goals. They rewrite history to their own consciousness clean, while renaming all the bad things their fellow travelers have done from slavery to the formation of the KKK to Jim Crow laws to the murder of Jews during Hitlera € ™ s rule in Germany as somehow â € œright Winga € and the product of conservative ideologies. Meanwhile, they have presented themselves as heroic and fighting for the oppressed. Take care not to that man behind the curtain, the one to suppress the switches and levers in order and to wants to intimidate into operation.
They ignore the fact that Robin Hood was really more a conservative than a liberal with todayâ € ™ s Definitions of terms, and not a follower of them. They ignore the fact that he fought against tyranny, the established political order of oppression and the high taxes. They ignore the fact that he took on corrupt religious leaders and called them on the carpet. And while this is to ignore everything that they displace, themselves as the true heir to a false legacy they have created for Robin Hood.
Yes, Robin Hood stealing from the â € œrichâ €. And € â € œrichâ I mean the corrupt politicians and leaders of the day on which lays down the stories. But he did not run around, much to the chagrin of the Liberals, taking on good people who worked hard to earn a living for themselves, stripping running coin from her purse and down, to put it in a different Man who had not earned it to give.
On the other hand, the liberals, like Barack Obama are all about empowering big government and high taxation. Making them more like the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John than any sort of Robin Hood.
